Structured Course "Google for Education", August 2022

The course Google for Education deals with a set of best-in-class productivity tools built for teaching and learning, currently known as Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals (​formerly known as G Suite for Education). It can help you increase opportunities for critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, all while supporting the learning objectives that you have for your students. These tools are free, ad-free, reliable, and secure. They are already used by millions of students in schools around the world. Of course, the best thing is that these tools are relevant to students, easy to use, and open doors to many new ways to learn.

Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals is suitable for and adjustable to any level of education, including kindergarten, elementary, secondary, high school, college and university.

Duration: 11 days

Job Shadowing

Job shadowing: participants can spend a period of time at a hosting organisation in another country with the aim of learning new practices and gathering new ideas through observation and interaction with peers, experts or other practitioners in their daily work at the hosting organisation.

Duration: 8 days

Selection

Number of educators to be selected: 7 (5 for courses [minimum], 2 for job shadowing [maximum])

Selection criteria:

1. Field of education

2. Willingness and capability to develop updated teaching/management plans

3. Level of English

4. Willingness to share the results and communicate with other teachers in Europe by using eTwinning

A relevant selection table will be created.

Process:

1. Educators have been informed about the mobility and the selection process, in spring 2022.

2. The interested educators need to hand in their application signed by the 5th of June.

3. By the 8th of June, the results will be announced.

4. After the announcement of the results, the applicants who were not selected have the right to appeal the decision. Deadline: 12 June 2022.

Notes:

1. A standby list of educators will be created in case someone gets sick or can not participate for some other reason.

2. Those who do not hold an EU ID/passport, and they need a visa to travel, they must arrange for its issuance.

3. In case of cancellation of participation, untimely cancellation results in the deduction of a sum of money, from the total amount of the guarantee, as follows:

   1. 25% of the total amount of the guarantee, when the cancellation is made more than 30 days before the departure date.

   2. 50% of the deposit when cancellation is made between 15 and 30 days before the departure date.

   3. 100% guarantee when cancellation is made less than 15 days before the departure date.

Student Mobility

Short-term learning mobility of VET learners

VET learners will spend a period learning abroad at a partner VET provider, in a company, or in another organisation active in the field of VET or the labour market. The learning period must include a strong work-based component and an individual learning programme must be defined for each participant.

Specifically, we plan to involve learners from the vocational departments of Hotel and Culinary Arts, Agriculture, Hairdressing, Computer Engineering and Construction Works. All these learners attend vocational studies, so their participation in two-week mobility activities for VET learners at partner workplaces in Europe, including hotels, botanical gardens, greenhouses, computer companies, etc. (according to each learner’s specialization) will help them improve their qualifications and professional competences, and by being awarded a formal qualification such as the Europass mobility certificate, they will become more attractive not only to the local but also to international employers; these are steps on the path of creating highly employable graduates.

Selection

Number of pupils to be selected: 35

Selection criteria:

1. Grade (educational achievements and performance of students with particular emphasis on grades in vocational subjects and foreign languages)

2. Conduct (good behavior, involvement in the activity and life of the school, attendance to classes)

3. Level of English or of another foreign language including Polish, German, Russian, and French.

4. Students with fewer opportunities due to financial and family problems, different language or culture, special needs, etc.

5. Priority will be given to 2nd class pupils. We will give first priority to 2nd class students and second priority to 3rd class ones, aged 16-18, because they will already have obtained some skills and capacities from the school curriculum, and so they will be better able to revise, develop and update them. Especially, for 2nd year ones, after the mobility activity, there will be almost two years' time till their graduation, for them to apply what they learn and for us to track better their progress in terms of the set objectives.

Process:

1. Pupils have been informed about the mobility and the selection process, in spring 2022.

2. The interested pupils need to hand in their application signed by their guardians by the 23rd of June.

3. By the 30th of June, the results will be announced.

4. After the announcement of the results, the applicants who were not selected have the right to appeal the decision. Deadline: 4 July 2022.

Notes:

1. A standby list of students will be created in case someone gets sick or can not participate for some other reason.

2. Students over the age of 16 must obtain a military permit.

3. Those who do not hold an EU ID/passport, and they need a visa to travel, they must arrange for its issuance.

4. All students will be covered by travel insurance, which will also cover part of any medical expenses. It is also advisable for them to proceed with the issuance and acquisition of a European medical card by the Citizen Service Center.

5. In case of cancellation of participation, untimely cancellation results in the deduction of a sum of money, from the total amount of the guarantee, as follows:
